# Rebar Weight Calculator (EN 10080)

Calculate reinforcing bar weight from nominal diameter and length. No density picker on purpose: EN 10080 defines rebar nominal mass at exactly 7.85 g/cm³. A real GET form: computes correctly with JavaScript off.

   Reinforcing bar Quantity

 Nominal diameter mm

 Common sizes: 8, 10, 12, 16, 20, 25, 32 mm.

 Length mm

Stock bars are typically 6 000 or 12 000 mm.

Density is fixed at 7.85 g/cm³ — the EN 10080 nominal mass convention for reinforcing steel. The ribs are already included in the nominal cross-section.

## Rebar weight — frequently asked

Why can I not pick a steel grade here?

Because rebar mass is defined by standard, not by grade: EN 10080 fixes the nominal mass at 7.85 g/cm³ on the nominal cross-section for ALL reinforcing grades (B500A, B500B, B500C alike). A grade picker would imply a choice that does not exist.

Do the ribs add weight on top of this result?

No — the nominal diameter is defined so that the ribbed bar's mass equals a plain round bar of that diameter. The ribs are already inside the nominal cross-section.

How accurate is this against delivered weight?

This is the standard's nominal mass — invoices are settled on it. EN 10080 allows the actual delivered mass to deviate within a tolerance (±4.5% for ≤ 8 mm, ±6% above), so a weighed bundle may differ slightly.
