Les aciers de construction non alliés comprennent tous les aciers à faible teneur en carbone dans lesquels les éléments d’accompagnement du fer ne dépassent pas les valeurs minimales spécifiées. La limite d’élasticité, l’aptitude au formage et la soudabilité sont déterminantes pour leur utilisation. Ils sont doux, malléables, tenaces et extensibles, mais ne peuvent pas être durcis par traitement thermique.
