Tube & Ring Weight Calculator

Calculate tube or ring weight in either mode — outside diameter + wall thickness, or outside + inner diameter. A ring is just a short tube. A real GET form: computes correctly with JavaScript off.

Tube & ring weight — frequently asked

What happens if the wall thickness exceeds half the outside diameter?

The calculator refuses and names the real bound — wall thickness must be at most half the outside diameter, because more than that is geometrically impossible. It never clamps your input.

How do I calculate a ring or a hollow disc?

Switch to OD + inner diameter mode and enter the ring's height as the length — a ring is geometrically a short tube.

Can I enter an inner diameter equal to the outside diameter?

No — that would leave zero wall and zero weight. The calculator refuses with the bound: the inner diameter must be strictly smaller than the outside diameter.
